Understanding The Challenge
Understanding its need for growth through an impactful online presence, Okey Dokeys sought to create a website that would resonate with its customers. Okey Dokeys had never created a website, they didn’t have digital content to reference for their website design. This required a standardization of their brand design and what kind of online feel they would like to have. This prompted them to work with Big Red Jelly to create an online brand and website targeting their ideal customer.

Big Red Jelly crafted an approach to address Okey Dokeys’ challenges.

This project aimed to create a space where Okey Dokeys’ customers could easily navigate to use their products and identify with them.
Part 01 | Brand
Brand Strategy & Design
Okey Dokeys needed a brand refresh to prepare them for their online presence. This included creating a logo and color palette reflecting their values, and clear messaging that communicated simply their expertise in teaching beginners crochet.
Part 02 | Content
Content Creation
Second, we developed a stronger brand guide to prepare for the website design. Throughout logo designing services we created color, light, and dark logo sets for all the situations Okey Dokeys would need to use their logo. Additionally, we used the brand guide to create icons of their crochet products fitting into their brand color palette that could be used for future content creation. We built upon Okey Dokeys’ already creative brand to create a consistent formula for brand success.
Part 03 | Build
Website Development
Next, a brand-new website was built to showcase their products. Using our Shopify website design services we created a user-friendly website featuring Okey Dokeys’ values of helping beginners become creative through their inclusive community of quality crocheters. Here customers can engage with Okey Dokey by seeing the kits and patterns available to buy along with password-protected tutorials on how to create their crochet projects. This new online interface allows customers to feel a part of this Okey Dokeys community and identify with their values.
Part 04 | Password Protection
Securing the Website
Okey Dokeys has several tutorial videos for their products that need protection on their website. Using Shopify we created password protection for all their tutorial videos. Customers were distributed unique passwords with each kit they purchased allowing customers to use their products while still keeping them safe.
Part 05 | Messaging
Displaying Their Brand
Finally, with their Shopify-built website, they needed a way to continue connecting with their customers. They build a blog within the Okey Dokeys website where they can continue to nurture their community of creative designers. Another key element of displaying their brand identity was the product description tabs individualized for each product. Here customers are introduced to the character they are about to build giving the customer experiences they identify with.
