Preston Vawdrey

Brand and Build Strategist

In his junior year of college, Preston started as a web design specialist here at Big Red Jelly. He did not have much experience, but thought it would be a great way for him to learn some of the fundamentals of product and digital marketing. From there his life changed forever. Preston fell in love with digital and UX design. He now works at Big Red Jelly as a Builder and Strategist, and helps small to medium businesses expand their digital presence and build the foundation for their digital marketing ecosystem.

When Preston first started college, he was a communication and debate nerd. Although it was a long time ago, it influences the way he makes websites. He sees marketing as different arguments for making a purchase decision. And there are some very bad arguments out there… There are also some really convincing arguments that you need to compete against. So how do you as a small business create a great argument that can compete with the big dogs?

That’s where Preston comes in. That’s what he does everyday here at BRJ and would love to help you make that argument for your business.

My Areas and Tools of Expertise

Why Choose Shopify?

Shopify is a great platform for new and established businesses alike. It’s designed to help people build their own, scalable online store with hundreds of built-in features, and tons of apps.

What drives your work?

I love building unique experiences that connect businesses with customers. Now, more than ever, it is extremely important for businesses to create unique and exciting web experiences for their users to explore. Gen Z has high expectations from business owners and they can sniff out a bad website very quickly. I am ambitiously working with business owners today to create digital experiences that will not only help them grow, but thrive in the modern digital economy.

What’s next in the world of web building?

The No-Code movement is making it possible for not just websites, but apps, services, and even business software to be done completely without code. In the not-so-distant future, I think there will be entire businesses, products and services powered by drag and drop interfaces. As these platforms develop (ironically through code), it will empower businesses, entrepreneurs, marketers, and many more to have high level access to business models that were “exclusive” to big tech 10 years ago.

As a web designer for Big Red Jelly, I work on websites a lot and I have also worked with SEO companies to make adjustments they recommend for SEO improvements. And I’m here to tell you I think Shopify is a great platform for SEO, it just isn’t the same as WordPress or non-CMS-based websites. Contact us to learn more!
