A strong brand identity is essential to gain and retain customers. Utah Rugby Academy wants to be perceived as bold, friendly, fun, passionate, and trustworthy. We carefully wrote their purpose, values, and mission statements so athletes understand what makes the National School 7s tournament special.

Creating a Strong Online Identity

We worked with key decision-makers of the National Schools 7s organization to build a brand that accurately reflected their vibrant, hardworking personality. Our team developed brand messaging that would resonate with their target audience: ruby lovers in Utah. From players to parents, coaches, and superfans, National Schools 7s needed a brand that would give them credibility in a niche market. In addition to their messaging strategy and implementation, our brand team created a memorable visual identity with a strategic color palette and a fun logo.

Designing the Logo

We designed the National Schools 7s logo after understanding Utah Rugby Academy’s goals for the tournament. They wanted the logo to be bold and colorful, yet simple enough to be used in different places.

The National Schools 7s logo uses blues and oranges to showcase the tournament’s fun and exciting atmosphere. The bottom of the logo uses the shape of a rugby ball, and the mountain ridge uniquely identifies the tournament location with Utah.

Michael was a blast to work with, with great insights and feedback for the logo and actively collaborating with the messaging and brand while still giving me creative freedom. I learned a ton about the rugby world, which was a fun bonus. He's an ideal client that I would be happy to work with again!
